Love the Ruby Tuesday salad bar...who doesn't?? When my husband travels on business, my youngest and I make it a point to have a "date night" at Ruby Tuesdays. It's quiet and the food is always fresh...and that salad bar! Heading to the salad bar I get a little nervous because there is a petite, 80+ yo woman who made it there somehow just before us, and my son has little-to-no patience.
She picks through the lettuce, delicately selecting four of the exact pieces she desires. She does the same with two sliced tomatoes. Now I start to think that this woman is such a healthy eater, no wonder she is has retained her figure into her 80's. She moves slowly across the salad bar, my son hoping to lap her a couple of times...but I continue to work on manners. As the older woman eeks towards the salad dressings, she eyes the bacon carefully, and then...loads it up, drowning the tiny leafs of lettuce she so pointedly picked out. I'm talking at least a pound or two of chopped bacon bits top her plate. That's not all, next is the ham. And the the cheddar cheese. No, that's not, the finishing touch? About a cup of blue cheese dressing.
On my carefully prepared plate: boston lettuce, edamame, sliced tomatoes, some onions and for a good measure, several slices of zucchini squash. But...I went with the blue cheese!
