EDITOR'S CORNER
Once again we are moving into a new year, 2011! Not quite the ring of 20-10, but we move on. This will be my 5th year as Editor and Owner of Family Times Magazine and I'm so proud of all the strides we have made. This year we're planning a lot of great events to share with you.
First, you'll see us at Kidfetti at the end of February, with a special fun treat for the community. Don't forget our latest Private School Resource Guide comes out in our Feb/Mar issue as well. It's growing each year, too!
Our 5th Annual Young Writer's Contest follows, with an interesting topic and a great getaway prize for one lucky writer and their family. Keep your eyes and ears out for a VERY special Mother's Day treat this year, more great issues and a Family Times special event.
And, don't forget, we're here for you! Keeping you connected with everything that's going on in our corner of the world.

Hope you're all finding some great options for your children in our Summer Activity Guide. If you find something really great, or have some suggestions to share with other Readers/Moms, please post them here. We all need some inspiration every now again to make our lives flow a little better.
This is such an exciting time of the year. With graduations, and the excitement of summer fun on everyone's mind, and most especially the change in routine. Don't forget we'll keep you updated each day on what kind of events are happening in the area. We love having you as part of our family!! Have a wonderful summer! Don't forget BIG THANK YOUS for all of our hard working teachers.

Lots of great stuff in our April/May issue thanks to all of our regular contributors: Manal, Veronica, Linda Porter, and our new additions: April Bos, Jaime Compton, Richard Rossetto, and Kristie Griggs. We hope you are all enjoying it. We have gotten so many wonderful entries in our Magic of Mom contest that it is truly going to be hard to whittle down our Top 10 Finalists and our GRAND PRIZE Magical Mom. Good thing we put together a great group of area moms to help us judge: Laurie Zink - Marketing & Development Director of The Centers, and the beauty and brains behind Horse Fever AND KIDfetti, along with stay-at-home Mom Lisa McLaughlin, hard working Moms from the Marion County Children's Alliance Monica Bryant and Nancy Castillo, and MTI visionary Diane Clinton. We are looking forward to crowning a winner - in bed in the Grand Ballroom of the Holiday Inn Suites - on Mother's Day. Come out for the fun and have brunch with us!
We are also working away to bring you an activity packed Summer Activity Guide in which there will be hundreds of things to choose from for your family this summer. Try something different, try something new for and with your children - that's what summer is all about. You may discover a hidden talent or passion in your child. We're going to get this to the printer as soon as possible so that you'll have plenty of time to make your summer plans. If you have elementary of middle school children, look for it in their backpacks at the end of May!
